The Historical Society of the US state of Missouri in the Midwest recently moved into its new home in the city of Columbia. Opened in 2019 and operated by the society, the Center for Missouri Studies is dedicated to scientifically collecting, researching, and exhibiting documents and evidence related to all aspects and periods of Missouri's history.
In addition, the institution aims to increase interest in and appreciation for the state's cultural heritage and its people through educational offerings and public relations. The Center also houses a significant collection of regional artworks as well as exhibits documenting the westward expansion of the USA. The society's administrative headquarters are also located in the new building, which additionally features flexible public spaces for events.
