During the renovation of a significant war memorial in Honolulu, substructures and approximately 8,000 FZP II undercut anchors from fischer BWM facade systems were used. Since March 14, 2018, the former BWM Dübel und Montagetechnik GmbH has been part of the fischer group from the Northern Black Forest.
In a picturesque natural landscape in Honolulu, Hawaii, is the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Because the site was built within a volcanic crater, it is colloquially also called the "Punchbowl Cemetery." Alongside Pearl Harbor, this is another landmark and famous memorial site in Honolulu. The place is dedicated to about 53,000 soldiers who lost their lives in several wars.
An important place in the large facility is the memorial for those who fell in the Second World War. However, since it was in poor condition, the National Cemetery Administration decided to renovate it. The planning was in the hands of the US Army Corps of Engineers. The fischer group was also involved in this historic project. The task was to replace the natural stone slabs with the engraved names of the fallen over an area of around 1,200 square meters. To securely and firmly fix the slabs, which are about 60 centimeters wide and 90 centimeters high, into the concrete walls, around 8,000 fischer undercut anchors FZP II in the 13x30 M8/SO/13 AL version were used together with the fischer BWM aluminium support structure ATK 103 P.

The aluminum support structure ATK 103 P, including the long-span clamps with a length of 150 mm, which fischer BWM specially manufactured for this project in Gorleben, was used for this purpose. Together with the fischer Zykon plate anchors, the solutions securely and invisibly fasten the natural stone slabs in the concrete, concealed and invisible from the outside. With the fischer BWM ATK 103 systems, different material thicknesses can also be economically combined thanks to the patented "folding principle." The skillful interplay of fischer FZP undercut anchors and fischer BWM substructures formed the optimal solution for the project. After the renovation, the memorial now offers a flawless and durable place of remembrance.
