Technology meets art

Nature and sculpture in an interesting interplay – this describes SCULPTOURA. With the sculpture trail, the district of Böblingen increases awareness of its forest- and meadow-rich cultural landscape from Schönbuch to Heckengäu, offers artists an extraordinary platform, and invites visitors around the clock to explore the exhibition by bike or on foot.  
 
Ten, partly multi-part exhibits were fixed to concrete slabs using fischer steel anchors FAZ II, FBN II and TA M / SL M. These include the woodworks by Ingrid Hartlieb, Theresia K. Moosherr and Lars Zech. Added to these are the steel sculptures by José Aguirre, Erich Hauser, Ernst Günter Herrmann, Werner Pokorny, Wolfgang Thiel and Manuela Tirler as well as massive cast stone eggs by Renate Hoffleit.

Thus, the fastening solution is virtually the hero behind the scenes of the open-air exhibition, which attracts art and nature enthusiasts on bikes and hikes from beyond the district borders. “With SCULPTOURA, we prove that the Böblingen district is more than just an important economic and industrial location. It also has a strong art and cultural scene as well as rural and natural sides,” emphasizes Roland Bernhard, District Administrator of the Böblingen district.

Because it is well received, the exhibition, originally planned for the period from summer 2014 to autumn 2015, is now on display indefinitely. The route has expanded from 30 to 40 kilometres with connections to public transport in Weil der Stadt. Some works change regularly, giving new artists the opportunity to present their work. Accompanying events and activities, as well as the ever-changing encounter of nature and sculpture through changing times of day and seasons, also make the exhibition a lasting experience.
