Secure hold for fire protection boards
The project includes, in addition to the installation of fire protection panels, the repair of damaged concrete structures and the erection of a partition wall between the opposite, each two-lane directions. This is complemented by the renewal of the roadway and sealing, a new and efficient ventilation system, additional emergency exits, the complete replacement of tunnel lighting, cameras with license plate recognition for detecting oversized vehicles, as well as many other measures including the necessary technical equipment. The fire protection panels are mounted on a substructure made of stainless steel, which securely and firmly fixes fischer ceiling nails FNA II, fischer bolt anchors FAZ II, and the fischer universal rail system FUS to the concrete walls and beams.

The Hallepoort Tunnel was named after the former city gate Hallepoort in Brussels.

With its permissible load of up to 2.4 kN, the low anchoring depth (in some cases only 25 mm), and the small drill diameter (6 mm), the FNA II combines safety with ease of installation and is frequently used in tunnel construction. The expansion clip provides the nail anchor with firm hold as soon as it is inserted into the drill hole, preventing it from falling out during overhead installation. The anchor can then be fixed quickly and easily by impact installation. The massive shaft cross-section ensures high load-bearing capacity. Under load, the installed nail anchor expands independently.
Thanks to its high load capacity in concrete, the FAZ II is also ideal for applications in tunnel construction, such as anchoring substructures for fire protection boards. According to the new ETA, the tensile and shear load capacities have been further increased (sizes M8 - M12), allowing for fewer fastening points and lower costs. Its variable anchoring depths (sizes M8 - M16) can also be adjusted to the loads with millimetre precision. When tightening the nut, the conical bolt is pulled into the expansion clip, clamping it firmly against the drill hole wall. The loads are immediately transferred into the concrete, achieving maximum load-bearing capacity. Both the FNA II and the FAZ II have ETA approval as well as fire resistance class R 120. Both steel anchors can be installed not only by pre-installation but also by through-installation, which is advantageous when installing groups of anchors. Small axial and edge distances additionally facilitate processing.

The universal rail system FUS can be used to install not only media lines but also supporting structures. Thanks to clever geometry with pre-assembled connecting elements, the rails and extensive accessories can be connected to the desired constructions using a simple "Clix" mechanism. The fire resistance class R 120 and the fire test report according to MLAR/EN 13501 ensure functional safety in the event of a fire.
The fischer products are installed in corrosion-resistant stainless steel A4 versions. With their technical properties, the steel anchors and installation systems used meet all necessary requirements to maintain and enhance the safety of road users in the Hallepoort Tunnel.
