The Chinese technology group Huawei is investing heavily in its future. Spread across 14 buildings, the new research center in Suzhou covers more than 750,000 square meters. The modern building complex is located west of Shanghai in the center of Suzhou’s Sangtian Island, also known as China’s "Silicon Valley." The total investment in the project amounts to 2.6 billion euros. The facility will house offices, staff accommodations, canteens, commercial spaces, and auxiliary facilities. Upon completion, the complex is expected to provide living and working space for 10,000 employees.
A total of 1.4 million ZYKON plate anchors fischer FZP II A4 M8 and 200,000 ZYKON undercut anchors fischer FZA 12x40 M8/15 N A4 were used in the project to secure the stone facade. The substructure of the ventilated facade was fixed with 50,000 fischer RM reaction cartridges. All buildings were inspired by European architecture. Special types of granite were used to create various decorative stone shapes such as chamfers and arches. These appear in the pillars from floor to ceiling as well as in the porch, cornice, and window-framing patterns.
