“Raffles City” in Chongqing, China is a mega-structure. The new world record building includes the tallest “horizontal skyscraper” on Earth. Around 300,000 fischer Zykon plate anchors FZP II ensure secure fastening of the natural stone panels on all eight skyscrapers that the structure comprises.

Chongqing, with more than 82,000 square kilometers, is the city with the largest area in the world and has over 30 million inhabitants. With “Raffles City Chongqing,” the metropolis has gained a new landmark. The project, whose developer is the CapitaLand Group, was completed after seven years of construction in 2019. “Raffles City Chongqing” includes six 250-meter-high skyscrapers located to the south and two northern skyscrapers each 350 meters high. On a total area of 1.12 million square meters, there are apartments, offices, a shopping mall, a hotel, and other mixed-use facilities.
A remarkable feat of engineering is the bridge "The Crystal" – the tallest "horizontal skyscraper" in the world. The structure measures 300 meters in length, 32.5 meters in width, and 26.5 meters in height. It spans across four 250-meter-high skyscrapers and connects additional support bridges to the two adjacent high-rise buildings towering 350 meters. "The Crystal" houses a gallery, a clubhouse, and much more. At both ends, an observation deck protrudes. With glass beneath their feet, visitors can enjoy a wide view of the city here. "Raffles City Chongqing" was designed by the world-renowned Israeli architect Moshe Safdie. He was also responsible for another project where fischer facade systems were used: Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

An essential component of the "Raffles City Chongqing" project are the facades of the buildings, which are clad at the podium with glass and the reddish natural stone Red Sesame Granite. They serve as both the face and protection of the buildings. Approximately 300,000 fischer Zykon plate anchors FZP II ensure a secure hold of the natural stone slabs on the structures.
The FZP II anchors provide a form-fitting and completely expansion-pressure-free fastening in the conically undercut drilled hole.
In addition, the undercut technology offers visual advantages.
